Slag retaining wall has good flow stabilization effect, promotes the floating of inclusions, improves the cleanliness of molten steel, and prolongs its service life. It improves the stability of the entire structure of the tundish slag retaining wall and the safety of use, and can adapt to various complex working conditions.
The slag retaining wall effectively eliminates the dead zone at the bottom of the tundish, improves the flow trajectory of molten steel, promotes the reasonable distribution of heat flow, limits the strong eddy current caused by the impact of ladle injection to a local area, and prevents the turbulent diffusion from causing surface fluctuations and the slag from being drawn into the molten steel. Slag Retaining Wall Application：
Slag retaining wall (slag retaining weir, plate, dam) is set in the tundish. Setting various forms of slag retaining wall in the tundish can effectively make the inclusions in the molten steel float and separate. The height, setting position and number of slag retaining wall have a great influence on the removal of inclusions. The slag retaining wall can be a single wall, double wall or multiple walls. Its purpose is to retain slag and improve the cleanliness of molten steel. Its material is generally high aluminum. It can be built in the tundish with bricks, or it can be made into prefabricated blocks and placed in the tundish. Low cement corundum castable is used as slag retaining wall, and its service life is basically synchronized with the ladle lining.
